Bummer, you are right! Such a stupid policy, especially because they allow you to register from a different country. I give up.
Well, at least we get the audio samples for free...

You're right Eli, it is a bummer and also a stupid policy. Record companies! Pah! One of those, small people getting shafted by multi million organisation scenarios....

However, CD will be all the more worth waiting for... ;-)

The Mary Poppins CD has landed in my mailbox today (great job Middle8)!!

I'm listening to it RIGHT NOW and so far all my high expectations have been largely met! 76:04 minutes of total musical bliss, but with lots of dialogue too, which makes the story much more complete. And the presence of the audience, giggling in the background or erupting in applause at the end of most of the numbers, makes the whole recording so much warmer overall.

As we know, Mr Banks' songs have been shortened in the Australian production compared to the Original London Cast Recording, but PQ makes the absolute most of them. I won't say too much for the time being, don't wish to spoil the surprise to you all. Let me just say that I'm getting to the end of the Album and my PC screen is getting rather blurred. And my keyboard humid. :P

All the details about the CD coming up on the PQG very soon!

Arh. Thanks Eli.... knew it would be good. It is nice to have a live recording insofar as it's great to hear the audience's reaction to performances....

Just heard from a friend who landed in Melbourne today and tried to get in to see Mary Poppins - House Full no seats! Don't think she is too disappointed as the next 2 nights she is off to see Neil Diamond (her reason for going all that way)but she had wanted to see the Australian production and in particular Philip as she loved him in La Cage. Unfortunately the rest of her time is filled with Neil concerts all over the place so she missed a treat!

But great news in a way - the cast are still packing them in!

It did and it's great. Judging by the cast recording, they thoroughly deserved each award. Listening to that CD puts a smile on your face. As such, can imagine how fantastic the actual show is....

Press Night in Sydney about to begin. Chookas to the whole cast!
This is how Sydney Town Hall - where the after-show party is going to take place - looks at the moment: :)

Judging by Capitol Theatre's Tweets and Facebook posts, Sydney opening night went very well.

Just read an interesting article in Stage Whispers about PQ's feeling on playing Mr. Banks. Sad news for UK fans though. PQ resigned to move back to Australia permanently. Sniff.

Stage whispers is just that Don't read too much into the PQ statement. Listen to the interview he gave at the start of the Sydney show - not quite ther same emphasises on his retrun to Oz as Stage whispers. His interview rings more true thhan stage whispers. What did PQ resign from to return?
