 "Caterpillar Wish" release
« Thread Started on May 18, 2006, 4:35am »

First review from a popular Australian movie website:

http://hoopla.nu/films/the-caterpillar-wish/the-caterpillar-wish.html

It looks like PQ's role is some kind of modern-times Inspector Javert!

Good medium-term prospect for all of us outside Australia who are itching to see The Caterpillar Wish. Negotiations are underway to sell TCW to Europe and later on to the rest of the world. Also, the DVD of the movie is going to be released in early December 2006.

Thank you to Kate Whitebread (producer) and Antony Zeccola (executive producer) for replying *personally* to our email enquiry. :D

Cheers,

There is an on-line retailer in Australia listing the Region 4 Australian Caterpillar Wish DVD with a release date of 25 October 2006.

I cannot recommend more warmly the purchase of The Caterpillar Wish DVD. I don't intend to give any "spoilers", but let me just say that it's a fantastic movie, with the right blend of melancholy, suspence and "humanity", plus great photography and an ultra-professional cast.
After the first three minutes you have already "connected" with all the different characters, both good and less-good (I'm afraid PQ is among the latter...)

The DVD ("Special Edition") is also packed with extras: Behind-the-scenes interviews, full audio commentary with the Director & Producer, Deleted Scenes... a real treat!
And the icing on the cake: the DVD is multiregion (Region 0), ie it can be played in ANYWHERE in the world!! :D

Check the Caterpillar Wish page of the PQG for the latest Photo / Video updates! :D

All the best,
Eli

Glad you agree, Skipper! :)
And if you haven't yet done it, I recommend watching the whole movie again with the producers' (Kate Whitbread & Sandra Sciberras) audio commentary on: lots of interesting details about the shooting and lovely remarks about the whole cast, including some rather scrumptious comments regarding PQ! :P

All the best,
Eli

I will watch it again tomorrow night, I had not noticed the special interview on it, so i will watch that piece first. The film is so easy to follow and what great acting by PQ ( didnt you just want to hug him in the accident scene).... Saw your picture on "stage door" photos, great to put a face to the name. I hope you enjoyed the show and stage door hug.

Enjoy! The comment alone by the two producers about PQ's "pots of soup" and his "astounding voice" is worth the price of the DVD! ::)

Hush hush, no spoilers! ;)

My pleasure! :)

I'm growing so fond of the soundtrack too, it matches so well with the general mood of the movie.
I've just found out that it is possible to listen to three full instrumental tracks from Burkhardt Dallwitz's official website. Here's the link:
http://www.burkharddallwitz.com.au/audio.html

I also liked the songs by Chloe Hall, Melanie Horsnell and Scott Kingman.

All the best,
Eli
