Hi Eli I found this yesterday and still no joy. It doesn't seem to recognise it as a Quick-time movie so assuming there was a problem when the website uploaded it

I hope I am allowed a little rant here concerning the Official Mary Poppins website run by Disney Australia: http://www.disney.com.au/marypoppins The lack of notable updates after the show's opening is shameful, especially considering that they keep priding themselves on producing a sensational show. I'm afraid any sensation is numbed rather than heightened after visiting the various sections of that site: apart from the castlist and cast's bios no section is actually related to the Australian production, but is just put together re-using material from the American (Broadway & Touring) versions. Rant over. Eli

Eli,
I am joining your rant. If it wasn't for sites like the PQG and others, would we even know that Mary Poppins existed as a stage version in Australia. Come on Disney its Australia NOT 'second star on the right , and straight on till morning'. Wrong musical I know but in the words of Mr Banks - 'Precision and order, is all that I ask!'

Agree here Eli, darkmagician and Little Monkey - Disney should be ashamed of themselves considering how great the Australian Production is and the amazing cast that are in the show! The PR on the ticketek/HMT site is also rubbish and they are still showing London production clips (and HMT is still saying the show is in previews!) when we all know that the Australian show has been filmed for PR purposes - where are these clips I ask???
Still wondering if they have changed the posters outside the theatre - know these are expensive but I would hope Cameron would have been able to afford at least some posters of the Australian cast!!!

Maybe Sir C is strapped for cash. Should we send him a donation? LOL

Just a quick message to say just got back from hols and hence have just listened to the "Broadway at Bedtime" interview. Thanks for posting - it's great! I reckon that PQ would be a good bloke to go out for a beer with!

Aha! You got me started there! The WHOLE set of the Australian production is actually a scaled-down (=cheaper!) version of the original London and current Broadway one. It's the same set that's used in the US Tour, with lots of "trompe-l'oeil" solutions as opposed to real features. The most blatant negligence is the open fire, so essential to the story: compare the two photos below and... join the rant!!
The luxurious Banks living room in the Broadway set:

The miserable Banks living room in the Australian set (dire straits indeed!):

I can totally see where you are coming from but, there is one thing that the Broadway production can't compete with Vs the Australian production, and that is the presence of PQ....

You are indeed hitting the nail on the head, clairew. Somehow I feel that the current stellar Australian cast have been short-changed, the producers deciding that the Australian premiere - which has NEVER been referred to as a touring one - did not deserve the kind of luxury that they could afford for the West End and Broadway productions.

Again, I can see what you mean Eli, however, some of the best things I have seen have had very minimalist sets....makes you less distracted and more able to focus on the acting....who needs a posh set when you have the legend that is PQ on stage....;)

Too true Who needs sets with such a brilliant cast as what has been assembled in Australia. But Sir C really needs to look at his production values. How can he say they are the best cast and crew yet gives them what looks like an inferior set? I don't rant very often but surely the cast (and PQ) deserve just the same as the other productions around the world. He and Disney need to re-dress how the website - his and Disney - should be updated. This show is running and doing good box office but both sites still have Broadway or London photos, or even worse have video saying it is still in preview.
Come on Guys (and Gals) who work for these people, it's time to pull your finger out and do this production justice

Fair enough but, I'll bet the cast are just pleased to be working in such a great team....when you work as a member of any team that works so well, it's pretty rewarding.
