Love Tara but have soft spot for Vanessa too, so if the long awaited transfer includes either of them I'd be happy!
To: Everyone who's going this week - have a wonderful time and hug PQ for me!! ;)

Don't miss a new juicy report by The Stage critic Mark Shenton after his latest visit to the Menier! :D

PQ is a gentleman with a wonderful voice, a brilliant actor & is very kind ~ especially to my son.

Actually, PQ is just brilliant in every way.

Hi, There seems to be a very strong rumor that it is going to transfer! DH has some TV work first I believe April/ May seems to be th time. If it does transfer suggest you steer clear of the week of May 9th as PQ does the Barbican concert that Sat. He sometimes takes the week off as hols if he is doing something like that.

I understand that the manage, net have had so many calls.emails about this even from overseas! soooooooooooooo lets hope so. more inquiries might help!!!

Saw it this week and it is still great - must admit that I prefered Tara, but then Vanessa has had such little time to fit in. I think one of the problems was her dress - not of the period and did look oout of place. I suppose it was hardly worth a new cos for the last week. It seems that the last week is full of other actors i lost count of the ones there the night I attended.

oh by the way he was limping off stage but not on stage even in the dance - which gets better each time I see it. I love the interaction between PQ and DH especially the bit where PQ pulls up DH's dress when it is slipping. You need to see it more than once to realise that the drress doesn't always slip!!!

We have just returned home after an extremely emotional last evening :D :'( :D

Although we went last Saturday as well ~ I have been saddened and excited about tonight all week. Saddened cos it was the last night at MCF and excited to be seeing it for the last time {for the moment anyway}

So I would like to apologise to all the other PQGers in the audience tonight for my cheering I am sorry I was soooooo loud. :-[ :-[ :-[

I hope PQ's cough doesn't develop into a problem for him and hope it was just a "tickle in his throat" :'(

I would like to congratulate the whole cast and crew for putting on a brilliant show. We enjoyed coming sooooooooo much we came again & again & again & again & again & again :D

We hope as many as possible transfer with the show to West End

:D :D :D

I went to the afternoon matinee :D
I would have loved to see the last performance but alas no tickets.
I have seen the show 3 times and this was the first time with Douglas Hodge, he was brilliant and the rapport between him and Philip was great.

What a fantastic show I hope it transfers too.

I loved it when i saw it. Did they do anything special for the final performance? At the end, during it etc?

I still find it hard to believe Cage is over, it's been such an extraordinary season, despite all the trials and tribulations this show has gone through.

Last Saturday's shows were of course very special, even though I was a bit disappointed with the audience on the matinee, were they sleeping or what??... It was also clear that there were lots of people who had never seen the show, so some of the "last-matinee pranks" sadly went unnoticed. :(

But the very last evening show was sensational, it ended up overtime because on several occasions, after a song or a gag, the performers had to stop and wait for the clapping and cheering to calm down. PQ in particular got such a cheer when he first appeared on stage at the very beginning, he was himself suprised, and definitely chuffed. ;D

The front tables were mainly occupied by guys, so the cast were really spoilt with choice when looking for "victims" for their naughty little jokes.
As it was to be expected, the whole cast gave 200% and although it was the very last performance many of them didn't miss the chance to add yet more extra touches.
[Georges (to an imaginary audience member): "Oh, you got your hair straightened! Nice to know there's at least something straight in this room..." // Cagelle 1 (while dancing): "I feel sick!"; Cagelle 2: "You LOOK sick!"]

Whether or not the show is going to transfer to the West End - and with which cast - I already know I will miss the Menier's "ambience" fiercely, Cage looked so perfect on that tiny stage. BTW, the taximan who drove us to the theatre last Saturday said that the MCF used to be a "70s Night Club" in the old days, which made the staging Cage at this venue even more appropriate, if possible.

I'm glad the Menier has such a thrilling programme coming up (Lauren Kennedy's and Maria Friedman's concerts, plus rumours about a Sondheim musical in the summer) because I'm afraid I've become addicted to this venue, the sheer smell of old wooden beams hightens my spirits every time. The only thing I definitely won't miss is the queueing before the show, last Saturday people started to stand in front of entrance to the auditorium *1 hour* before the start and the pushing as soon as the doors opened was downright dangerous. The Menier Management should really do something to solve this, before anyone gets hurt.

hi Ellie,

You are so right abou the Menier. It is so addictive. Showing some of my colleagues the 10 secs, I realised the same thing so much of this show was the menier. I would have loved to have been there on the last night I originally had tickets but this job came up so I passed them on back in january. I was so with you all on Saturday and looking to see where the show was at. I agree the audience does make the show as well. One of my visits, PQ had a terriable job getting re-actions. the others were terrific, in fact I was there last week when Mark Shenton etc were there. It really was another show going on and the audience loved it.
Congratulations to all of the cast and crew, it really was a great show.
