Oh my goodness, I thought when I first heard about this production that it would be great casting for Philip, and now it looks as if it may happen, according to Baz in today’s Mail!
“Philip Quast and Douglas Hodge are rumoured to be in early discussions about starring in Jerry Herman’s La Cage Aux Folles at the Menier Chocolate Factor.”
(Philip is expected to play Georges)

Just had a look at the Daily Mail's site, the article doesn't seem to be on line so I've typed it out below. I saw the New York production of Cage a couple of years ago and loved it. It will be interesting to see how the show is adapted for the small space of the Chocolate Factory.

Philip Quast and Douglas Hodge are rumoured to be in early discussions about starring in Jerry Herman’s musical La Cage Aux Folles, which playwright/director Terry Johnson will direct at the Menier Chocolate Factory theatre near London’s Borough Market from November 23 for a season through till March.
If those boys-dressed-as-girls kick up their heels high enough, then the show might transfer to the West End.
Meanwhile, I gather that if the deals go through, Mr Quast (so good in Evita recently) will play Georges and Mr Hodge will be Albin.
This is the show set in the South of France that was a hit at the Palladium well over 20 years ago.

hi, I had heard rumours re this and just hoped he would consider it! I think he will be great. I wonder if he is singing at the BBC concert on Sunday 23rd at the prince Edward theatre. Marie friedman is and they keep adding to the list. It seems the BBC wasa bit late in getting folk. Can Not go at The National that night. it might bve worth a ring to see if he has been added.
