First of all, thank you to Mary for her most enjoyable memories. Like Eli, I would certainly enjoy reading more of her stories. Do let us know if you do decide to write a blog, Mary. Secondly, what a wonderfully comprehensive reply to Kate re autographs. I certainly hadn't known about the Royal Mail service re postage. What a lot we can learn on this website!

I am glad that you liked my stories. Most of my writing involves local theater, so it was a fun to write up a “professional” production. I do have a theater website, but it also only covers our local theater productions. I am attaching a link to a page on that website that has to an article that was printed in our community newspaper that is a vague combination of both articles that I posted on this site. Just dropping a quick line to have a fangirl moment: in a very late Christmas present, an online friend got me an autographed program and t-shirt from Manchester Les Miserables production way back in the early 90's.

SIGNED BY THE ENTIRE CAST INCLUDING PHILIP QUAST!

oooh...lucky!!!

I've ben trying to write him for about six months. I'm just too scared to send anything! I'm afraid he wouldn't like me:( I've probably written about 15 drafts, each one worse than the last! i know the rules of celebrity ettiquitte say to be restrained in letters, but I always turn back into myself and ramble on incoherently. I don't understand why this is so hard!

welllllll when I went to London he was soooooo sweet about signing our few thing!

and we have just recently sent him a t-shirt to sign (it was Les Miserables) and i know he got it but hasen't replyed yet.... yeah we sent in a box inside another box w/ paid shipping so it would be easy for him to send it back!! so go ahead hey hey hey I have the adalphe stage door address
bc when we were wating for him to come out after evita and there was an address that said to send any things you want to have the stars sign so if you want that you could e-mail me at: [removed for security reasons]

Well, we sent him some things to the stage door ate the theatre! I'm not expecting them any time soon, because I know how busy he is with Evita and FOLLIES so I'm trying to be patient for now! Hope you find the courage to send somthing! It took me about a week before I finished my letter!

Yeah, go ahead!! I dont know how anyone as adorable a Philip could get so embaressed!! When i told him I loved him my sister said he blushed!! and he always takes such SHORT curtain calls!! I sent him a Les Miserables T-shirt and he sent it back!!!! he wrote "To Rachel love Philip Quast"

and on the back he wrote his name!! It took like 2 months but I dont blame him! I know how busy he's been!! So I'm sure he'll send it back(unless he dosent get it)hes sooooooo sweet!! i really want to go to London next year in may and see him in that thing he's doing!! for my 15th birthday!!! and my Mom said mabey!! she loved him so I'm sure we will!!!

I was having a look through some old posts on here and came across this thread so I thought I'd add my thoughts if I may.

I got a lovely autographed photo a couple of days ago from Philip

He must have had the Royal Mail angels at his back as it only took a day to get to me

(If you live in the UK you KNOW how rare that is!!)

I was honestly surprised that he answered as I forgot he was going to Malta to film 'The Devil's Double' when I sent it. Then he was back rehearsing for '1000 voices' and no doubt organizing things for the trip (too long by the way :-[

) to Oz. So imagine my surprise when an envelope dropped through my door last week.

The cat must have thought I'd gone mad when I'd opened it. I don't think she's recovered yet. I know I haven't.

As I say it was a wonderful thought especially as last week must have been a killer. Thanks Philip - you are a gent
